Sibiu International Theatre Festival

The Sibiu International Theatre Festival is a renowned celebration of arts, a cultural mix of theatre, dance, circus, movie, book, opera, conferences, exhibitions, performance & music which takes place annually in Sibiu.

The festival started in 1993, by a group of people led by Constantin Chiriac, actor at the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu. Since then, the festival has grown substantially to become the most complex festival in Romania; internationally, it has become the most important performing arts festival in Europe, judging by its ampleness, dimension, and quality of events.

The 25th edition of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival will take place between June 8 to 17 and its programme will bring almost 500 events in more than 70 venues, including churches, historical sites, pubs, and also the classic theatre halls. The producers of this year’s edition expect over 600.000 visitors.
